Troas, or “The Troad,” is an ancient region in northwestern Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). It is now in today’s Turkish province of Çanakkale. The Dardanelles bounds the Troad to the north and the Aegean Sea to the west. It is most famous for the city of Troy, the Trojan War, and the major Biblical port city of Alexandria Troas. The Apostle Paul visited Alexandria Troas during his second and third missionary journeys.
