Selim II

Selim II (lived 1524—1574, reigned 1566—1575), also called Selim the Blond or Selim the Sot (drunkard), was the 11th Ottoman sultan and the son of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. His mother was Hürrem Sultan. During his reign, his grand vizier Sokullu Mehmet Paşa exerted significant control over state governance.
