Parthenon

Built during the 5th century BC, the Parthenon is an ancient Greek temple built upon the Acropolis of Athens and dedicated to Athena, the patron goddess of Athens. It was built in thanksgiving for the Greek victory over the Persian Empire. It also served as the city treasury.
