Mysia was a region in the northwest of Asia Minor, located on the south coast of the Sea of Marmara. It was bounded by Bithynia on the east, Phrygia on the southeast, Lydia on the south, Aeolis on the southwest, the Troad on the west, and the Dardanelles on the north. Its largest city was Pergamum.
Alexandria Troas, on the Northwestern coast of Türkiye, was a major commercial port during New Testament times. Saint Paul used it to travel to and from Greece during his missionary journeys, and also stayed there and preached the Gospel.
