Mithridates VI Eupator (lived 135—63 BC, reigned 120—63 BC), also called Mithridates the Great, was the ruler of Pontus in northern Anatolia. He was a ruthless arch-enemy of Rome, seeking to dominate Asia Minor and the Black Sea Region and to end Roman dominion over Asia and the Hellenistic world.
