Lysimachus (lived c. 360—281 BC, reigned 306—281 BC) was one of several generals who served under Alexander the Great. Upon Alexander’s death, Lysimachus and the other generals (collectively called the Diadochi, or successors) divided the conquered lands between them. Lysimachus took control of Thrace and most of the north and west of Asia Minor.
