Ancient Lydia, the kingdom of the fabulously rich King Croesus
The kingdom of Lydia in Asia Minor, during the time of the great and rich King Croesus.

An iron-age kingdom in western Asia Minor (today’s Turkey), it was predominantly in the west-central region, including the modern provinces of Uşak, Manisa, and Izmir. Its boundaries changed over time. Its capital was Sardis (Sart), in today’s Manisa province.
