Hadrian (lived 76—138 AD, reigned 117—138 AD) is remembered as the traveling emperor, traveling with his entourage to almost every province of the Roman Empire. He was more interested in strengthening and improving the empire at the time than expanding it and involved himself in local issues more than other emperors did. He also built extensively, such as on projects like Hadrian’s Wall, which marked the limit of Britannia. He also rebuilt the Pantheon in Athens and constructed the Temple of Venus and Roma in Rome.
