Goths

The Goths were a Germanic people who played a major role in the fall of the Western Roman Empire. Their first appearance in history is in the third century AD, living north of the Danube river in what is now Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania. The Goths conducted raids into Roman territory. Many of them joined the Roman military.
