Caracalla, or Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (lived 4 April 188—8 April 219 AD, reigned 28 January 198—8 April 217 AD), was proclaimed co-ruler of Rome with his brother Geta by his father, Septimus Severus. Later, Caracalla had Geta murdered by his guards, making Caracalla the sole ruler of the Roman empire. He was known to be a tyrant and a cruel leader and considered one of the most tyrannical Roman emperors. In 217 AD, Caracalla was assassinated by one of his soldiers.
