Asclepius

Asclepius was the Greek god of medicine and the healing arts. He was the son of Apollo and Coronis (Arsinoe). He carried the rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, which is still the medical symbol today, the caduceus. His Roman equivalent was Aesculapius or Vediovis.
