Antiochus III

Antiochus III the Great (lived c. 241 BC—187 BC, reigned 223—187 BC) was a Greek Hellenistic king and the sixth ruler of the Seleucid Empire, the dynasty of Seleucus, who was one of the generals of Alexander the Great. He ruled over the region of Syria and large parts of western Anatolia. He waged a four-year war against the Roman Republic until he was defeated at the Battle of Magnesia in 189 BC.
