ChristianTurkiye.com is a joint project between travel writer Ken Grubb and the Christian travel agency Rainbow Tour Turkey. Our mission is to:
- Teach the world about the early Christian history and sites of Türkiye and Greece.
- Bring Christian tour groups and individual travelers to Turkiye and Greece to see those sites.

Hi. I’m Ken Grubb. I’m a travel writer, former adjunct instructor for the University of Maryland, former managing partner of Turkey Central LLC (and former administrator for the website TurkeyCentral.com), and retired special investigator of the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI). I retired from the Air Force in Izmir and remained in Türkiye for over 20 years!
Shortly after I arrived in Izmir, I became friends with George Keenan, his son Jimmy Keenan, his son-in-law Nusret Adınay, and his daughter (Nusret’s wife) Lara Adınay. George is the founder of Rainbow Tour Turkey, and Jimmy, Nusret, and Lara are now its managing partners. The four of us shared an interest in the Christian history of Türkiye.
I often traveled throughout Türkiye, visiting its ancient ruins and photographing and writing about them on the (former) Turkey Central community site. Now, I’m solely focused on the Christian history of Türkiye and Greece. I’m proud and privileged to work on the ChristianTurkey.com project with the Rainbow Tour Turkey team. Based on what I’ve learned working with other travel agencies and the Rainbow team, Rainbow Tour is the best in Türkiye regarding Christian tourism.

The rainbow first appeared in Türkiye. It is from this verse that George F. Keenan, as founder, gave his company its name. Rainbow Tour Turkey is a Category A travel agency established in 1995 in Izmir, Türkiye, under the Turkish Association of Travel Agencies (TURSAB). Rainbow Tour Turkey’s TURSAB license number is 3108.
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, George was assigned by the U.S. Air Force to Izmir from 1964—1965. After leaving the Air Force, he remained in Izmir and worked as a civilian contractor until 1994, when his job was deleted because of downsizing. After that, George and a close friend founded Rainbow Tour Turkey. George was a devout Christian and used Christian principles to run his business. His mission was always to bring as many people as possible to Türkiye to deepen their experience of the Bible by visiting the places where biblical events happened. To George, Rainbow Tour Turkey wasn’t just a company—it was a ministry—and it remains the same today.
Rainbow Tour Turkey is now owned and operated by George’s son, Jimmy Keenan, his son-in-law, Nusret Adınay, and his daughter (Nusret’s wife), Lara Adınay.
Rainbow Tour Turkey’s range of services has expanded considerably since George first founded it. Now, in addition to tours of the Seven Churches of Revelation and ancient cities the Apostle Paul traveled to during his missionary journeys in Turkey and Greece, Rainbow now specializes in Christian conferences, hosting thousands of attendees yearly from Christian organizations worldwide.
