Entablature

The stone piece which rests on a row of columns, atop their capitals. The entablature has three parts, from top to bottom:
- Cornice: The top part of the entablature, the decorative moulding which supports a roof.
- Frieze: The wide central section of the entablature, above the architrave, often decorated by bas-reliefs.
- Architrave: The lower part of the entablature, the main beam which sits directly on columns.
